Here is my ‘Artist Profile’ and a bit of insight into what ideas and themes I have been researching:

Graduating from The London College of Fashion in 2007, Claire Strickland started specialising as a milliner in 2009.  Recent experiments in her studio have explored ideas surrounding demons, Christianity, religion and the perceived role of women in society.  These have been expressed through sculptural forms, drawings, colours and kaleidoscopic patterns.

Claire’s headdresses have been seen onstage at The Linbury Studio at The Royal Opera House, The O2 Arena and various regional theatres – Watford Palace Theatre, The Tobacco Factory (Bristol) and Birmingham Old Rep to name a few.  In 2010 Claire came third in The Hat Magazine’s ‘Hat Designer of the Year Award’.  She currently works as a full time milliner and dyer in one of the most famous hat shops in the world.
